The policies, guidelines and standards pertaining to the design of official web pages vary widely among University of Wisconsin campuses. Roughly, they can be categories as follows:

  1. Accessible web design policies etc. explicitly seeking compliance with the American Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA).
  2. General web design policies etc. which show some concern for accessible design and recognize (but do not necessarily fully appreciate) the ADA mandate.
  3. Web-related policies which emphasize readability by a broad range of browsers, including text-based Lynx, but do not reflect any cohesive concern for barrier-free accessibility and understanding of ADA.
  4. Web-related policies etc. which call for a few accessible design features (excluding broad-range browser readability) but do not reflect any cohesive concern for barrier-free accessibility and understanding of ADA.
    • (currently none)
  5. Web-related policies etc. which contribute close to nothing to web-page accessibility.
  6. No web policy found.
    • UW-Parkside
