On each of the UW campuses, the majority of accessibility errors (within the combined data sets) pertained to the lack of alternative text for images. The lowest percentage was found at the UW-Whitewater, where 56% of all errors were of this type. The highest percentage (95%) was found at the UW-Superior.
Second in relative frequency was the lack of alternative text for hot spots on client-side image maps. This type of error occurred the least frequently at the UW-Superior (4%) and the most frequently at the UW-Whitewater (36%).
These two types of accessibility errors, the lack of alternative text for images and for image-map hot spots, constituted over 90% of the "high-priority" errors identified by Bobby at all but one UW campus: the UW-River Falls. Among the web pages on that campus, server-side images without alternative textual links constituted 12% of the accessibility problems--a proportion that is high in comparison to web pages at other UW institutions.
