• The data were collected in December 18-22, 2000.
   
• The 1051 CC home pages of U.S. community colleges included in this study were drawn from the list provided by the Community College Web maintained by the Maricopa Center for Learning and Instruction.
   
• Method: Bobby's automated checking function was employed in the same way as for my previous survey: 2001 Web Page Accessibility on University of Wisconsin Campuses: 2001 Survey Data (March/April 2001). For more details, including the limitation of this approach, please consult this study's methodology section.
   
• Results:
  • Only 29% of the homepages were free of major access barriers ("Bobby-approved").
  • On the average, community colleges homepages contained 9.6 instances of major access problems per page.

• These findings were presented and discussed at the 2001 Conference for Information Technology (CIT), sponsored by the League for Innovation in the Community College and held in Minneapolis, Nov. 14-17, 2001.
