The Instructional Materials Center
(IMC) houses three collections:
1.
A selection of
K-12 curriculum-related materials, including textbooks, kits, museum
displays, children’s/juvenile fiction and non-fiction (books), posters,
and puppets.
These materials are primarily used by education majors.
Home schoolers, as well as other parents and their children, also
make occasional use of this collection.
2.
The Library's
audio-visual collection, including video recordings (DVD and VHS),
compact discs (CDs), records (vinyl).
While the primary purpose of this collection is to support instruction
at UWSP, it is accessible to all users.
3.
A
science-fiction leisure reading collection.
All IMC materials are represented in
UWSP’s online catalog--with the exception of those vinyl records that
were received from the Music Department. For the latter, a separate card
catalog serves as finding aid.
The IMC also provides the following
facilities:
·
Open study
spaces for both individuals and small groups
·
Open teaching
area (for up to about 25 students)
·
Two small
semi-separated study areas with view
·

the following equipment: DVD/VHS players, record player, and typewriter
·
16 computer
stations with ample work spaces
·

Instruction Computer Lab (LRC 316) with 25 work stations, which are
available for general use when not taken up by classes
·
Three rooms (LRC
302A, 302B, and 302C), which can be used by groups for viewing of videos
or general study. Reservations of these rooms, and access to them, need
to be arranged through the Access Services Desk (1st floor,
715-346-2540).
·

which accommodates up to 40 students
Note: IF you wish to have items in
the IMC placed on reserve for instructional use, please direct your
