Behind the Mask, a photo exhibit featuring the profile and spirit of the Nicaraguan people, has been created to celebrate the 35th anniversary of one of Wisconsin’s best-kept secrets: the Wisconsin/Nicaragua Partners of the Americas, Inc. Sponsored by the Stevens Point Alliance for Latino Students and Advancements (SALSA) and Spanish Club, it will be on display in the lobby of the University Library from October 21 until November 8. |

Wisconsin/Nicaragua Partners assembled this rich and diverse cross-cultural collection of images to provide a glimpse into the lives of the people of Nicaragua and to help Wisconsin citizens learn about Nicaragua, Wisconsin’s partner country. The photographs in the exhibit are the work of Wade Britzius, who is the Executive Director of Trempealeau County Community Television in Whitehall, Wisconsin. Wade was in Nicaragua for three weeks, supported by a travel grant through the Partners of the Americas, Inc. and the U.S. Information Agency.
The exhibit has traveled throughout Wisconsin, including sites at Northcentral Technical College , UW-Madison's Steenbock and Memorial Libraries, Fox Valley Technical College, UW-River Falls, the State Capitol Building, UW-Waukesha, UW-Platteville , McMillan Memorial Library in Wisconsin Rapids, and the Portage County Public Library.
