Over 500 high quality books in the field of history are now available electronically to UWSP students and scholars through the UWSP Library Homepage/Electronic Books.

The American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) History E-Book Project launched its website in September including electronically over 500 works which are of major importance to historical studies and which are frequently cited in the literature. The History E-Book Project also plans to add 250 books annually, as well as publishing 85 completely new electronic titles.  ACLS, in collaboration with five Learned Societies and a group of University Presses, is exploring the use of new technologies to communicate the results of scholarship.

Users of History E-Books may search the full-text (as well as for book author, title, or subject) of the entire collection using the Search function.  Authors, titles, or subjects may also be found listed alphabetically in the Browse function. Individual pages may be printed using the browser's print button.  However at the request of copyright holders, the ACLS History E-Book Project has made no provision for printing or downloading of these titles, which remain under the copyright of the listed publisher, individual author, or estate.
