Kathy
M. Davis, a former director of libraries, now associate dean of Academic Affairs
at DePauw University, Greencastle, Indiana, has been named Director of the
University Library and Teaching-Learning Resources. She succeeds Arne Arneson,
who is retiring from an 18-year career as library director. She will come to
UWSP in August and will oversee library operations and other teaching-learning
resources units as well as represent the library with UW System peers.
“Kathy Davis will provide experienced leadership to the library and learning resources faculty and staff at UWSP,” said Provost Virginia Helm. The campus responded enthusiastically during and after her visit, citing appreciation for Kathy’s personal and professional style, her extensive experience with libraries nationally and internationally, and her fresh ideas about library services. “I look forward to working with Dr. Davis as we seek to continue and extend the library outreach so characteristic of UWSP’s library the last couple of decades.”
Dr. Davis holds an EdD in Curriculum, Supervision and Instruction/Ed. Media & Technology, an MLS in Library Science, an M.S. in Educational Media and Technology, all from East Texas State, and a BS in Elementary Education from North Texas State University.
