Pointer Index On the Web

The Index to the Pointer, the student newspaper of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, is now available on the Web. The Pointer Index is a joint project of the University Library and University Archives. Article access is to authors, titles, and descriptors by keyword(s). The index attempts to provide comprehensive coverage of campus life, opinion, and local events. Feature stories, Letters to the Editor, and the Pointer Poll are fully indexed. Only division level or championship sporting events are indexed. Coverage is currently for 1895 - 1940, and 1982 - 1997.

Current (current school year only) issues of the Pointer are shelved in the Current Periodicals area on the second floor of the University Library. Issues from 1895 are in University Archives, on the 5th floor of the University Library. An online version of the Pointer is also available on the Web. The Pointer Index was previously available only through the campus menu system, Oriel. With this move to the Web interface, access through Oriel will no longer be provided.
