Local News on the Web

The article "Libraries, societies add local news to Web" from the Stevens Point Journal (1/23/99) explains the cooperative efforts of several groups--the Portage County Public Library, the Portage County Historical Society, the Stevens Point Historic Preservation/Design Review Commission, the Stevens Point Area Genealogical Society and the Sesquicentennial Commission, and the UW-SP Library and Archives--in launching a number of Web accessible databases of local, historic importance.   This project is spearheaded by the UW-SP Library and Archives under the direction of Arne Arneson, Library Director.
