Proxy Patron |
|
The University Library now offers a service called "proxy patron."
What is proxy patron? Proxy patron allows one patron to check out books under another patron's identification number.
Who needs such a strange thing? Professors who have assistants they wish to extend faculty privileges and any faculty/staff member who wishes to let someone else pick-up or checkout their materials for them.
What did we used to do? We used to be much more lax about this sort of thing and accepted hastily scribbled notes or word of mouth.
What do we do now? In order to set up someone as a proxy, you must submit a written letter or email to the University Library Circulation desk. Include your name and UWSP ID number and the names and ID numbers of the people you would like on your proxy list. Also, include the date you want the proxy privileges to expire i.e. the end of fall semester 2000.
If you have any questions, call Andy Pech at extension 2540.
