Library's Brian Alford
 Named UWSP's Student Employee of the Year!

Student employees at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point were honored at the University Leadership Awards held on Saturday, May 5.

Brian Alford, Mosinee,  was named Student Employee of the Year. A senior majoring  in computer information systems, he has worked as an  information processing  consultant and assistant  in Interlibrary Loan in  the University Library  for the last three years.

Brian was nominated by David Timm and Kate Anderson of the Library.

"Whenever there are problems he attends to them immediately, communicates often with us about what he is doing and he is always looking for ways to improve the system," said Timm and Anderson, adding that he is patiently diligent and adaptable and has an ease relating and listening to others.

"These characteristics and his technical expertise make for an exceptional student employee," they said.

Brian will graduate in May with his bachelor's degree in computer information systems, and will begin his professional career as a Data Processing Specialist at the State Farm headquarters in Saint Louis.  At State Farm, Brian will be working on Web Design and Object-Oriented Programming.
