The
University Library is pleased to announce that Nerissa Nelson is
the new Foundation Librarian. Her responsibilities in the
University Library will also include Reference and Instruction.
Nerissa comes to the position most recently as a graduate teaching assistant in UWSP's Communications Division, where she has integrated bibliographic instruction into undergraduate survey courses.
Prior to coming to UWSP, Nerissa was in charge of the corporate library at Advantage Learning Systems (now Renaissance Learning) in Wisconsin Rapids. She was also formerly an Information Analyst at the Bank of America offices in Chicago, and has had intern and assistant positions with the Chicago Tribune and at UW-Madison's Business School Library, the Taylor-Hibbard Library in the Department of Agricultural Economics, and the Journalism reading Room of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication. She brings to UWSP a rich background in digital database searching, Web page development and user instruction.
Nerissa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Columbia College, a Master of Arts in Library and Information Studies from UW-Madison, and a Master of Arts in Communication from UW-Stevens Point.
