Kickin' a bad habit... |

Trash-talkin' Library student assistants and staff have teamed up in an effort to rid the Library's grounds of the unsightly litter that plagues us. On April 29, Library Student Assistants Brenda Smits, Lynn Metko, Stephanie Israel, Josh Tamling, Brian Tamling, Derrick Sands, Charles Vento, and Coordinator of Main Circulation Andy Pech scoured our grounds, even straying as far as the mall between the Natural Resources building and the Library, the near perimeter of the Fine Arts Center, and our favorite Parking Lot, Lot "R."

Seven full bags of trash were collected in the first round, and regular litter patrols will be carried out in the future. The instigators and managers of this event are students Lynn Metko and Stephanie Israel. Future plans also include t-shirts for participants. The aim is to wake up the campus to a serious litter problem, and to show that we can assist the campus, community, and our grounds crews in support of a better environment. We hope other campus buildings will join us! |
