America Links Up:
An Internet Teach-In! |
This event is part of America Links Up: A Kids Online Teach-In, a
campaign to encourage and support Internet educational events in communities across the
country. The campaign was kicked off in Washington, DC, during National Kids Online Week
in September 1998, and its sponsors will continue to support hundreds of local events
during the next school year. America Links Up is sponsored by major corporations and
scores of educational and non-profit organizations. The focus of the event is to
learn about:
- Internet basics,
- tools that promote a safe and rewarding online
experience,
- good quality "content" on the
Internet and how to use it, and
- ways to safely navigate around the Internet
The following is just a sample of examples and
guides that will enhance your use of the Internet. We encourage your participation!
