Applied Population Laboratory Home Page
The Applied Population Laboratory (APL) is a group of research and outreach professionals, within the University of Wisconsin - Madison , dedicated to providing the best demographic and economic data available.

Wisconsin Demographic Services Center
The Demographic Services Center's primary responsibility is to develop annual total population estimates for all Wisconsin towns, villages, and cities. It also makes annual estimates of the voting age population for all municipalities and total population estimates for Zip Code Areas, also including information on Wisconsin School Districts.

Department of Public Instruction Statistical Information Center
Statistics about local school districts within the state.  For additional information visit the National Center for Education Statistics. Follow instruction and use the pull down menu for additional choices.

"Born in Slavery" is a joint presentation of the Manuscript and Prints and Photographs Divisions of the Library of Congress. More than 2,300 first-person accounts of slavery comprising over 9,500 page images with searchable text, bibliographic records and 500 black-and-white photographs of former slaves are now available. The photographs of former slaves are linked to their correspinding narratives.

Both sites allow users to look up an interactive map for a specific location or receive door-to-door or city-to-city directions for either two specific addresses, or between general places of destination (such as “amusement parks” in “ohio”).
