PRIVATE SOLDIERS EXHIBIT In May In May the library will host a special photographic exhibit: “Private Soldiers: A Year in Iraq with a Wisconsin National Guard Unit.

The display comes to the library courtesy of Wisconsin Public Television and stems from the book written by Benjamin Buchholz, with photographs taken by Joseph Streeter and Nathan Olson.

The display chronicles the 2-127th Infantry Battalion’s year from initial training to deployment; to assignments in some of the most dangerous regions of Iraq and withstanding hundreds of attacks; to losing  three members and finally being able to return home. Candid photos capture both the soldiers’ day-to-day lives and their camaraderie. The display will be found on the 1st floor of the Main library and can be viewed during our normal business hours.

The library also owns the book which can be checked out.
