2648. ERITIS SIGUT DEUS by Hugo Wolfgang Rheinold (1853-1900). German. c1890. Pt: Brown black. Height: 11.5 inches. Ape ponders possibility of having descended from man. Note deftly held calipers in lower hand.

Note that "sicut" is mispelled as "sigut".
