Rheinhold's Monkey at the University of Edinburgh, School of Biological Sciences (UK, Scotland)

Until about 2004, this sculpture was registered with the Public Monument and Sculpture Association National Recording Project. Unfortunately, the entry in its database was not entirely correct: (1) The actual inscription reads ERITIS SICUT DEUS (not Eritus Sicut Deus), and (2) the artist's name is spelled Rheinhold (not Reinhold).

A more recent entry of this sculpture is included in the following inventory:

http://tweed.lib.ed.ac.uk/audit/auditdetails.asp?item=UCA0879

The above entry also includes a link to the image of the sculpture, including the marble plinth upon which it rests. The sculpture is located in Ashworth Laboratories on the Kings Buildings campus of the University of Edinburgh (stairway in the oldest building in the Ashworth complex).
