HIST 300: Methods and Skills of History/Primary & Secondary Sources

Use Search@UW to find primary sources located at UWSP and other Area Research Centers, including the Wisconsin Historical Society.  Use the "Search Scope" and limit to "Archives (UWSP) & Wisconsin Historical Society."

Note that many UWSP & PCHS primary sources are not in the catalog.

How to Request a Collection Transfer to UWSP Archives:

1. Email the Record

   • First, email the record to yourself.
   • Then, forward it to: archives@uwsp.edu

2. Include the Following in Your Email:

   • Your name
   • The class you are taking
   • Your research topic

   Someone from the Archives will contact you once the material arrives. Transfers typically take 5-14 business days.

3. Check the Collection Size:

   • If the collection is more than 5-6 boxes, use the "Register available online" to select only the boxes relevant to your research.
