The Archives is currently open by appointment only. Please call 715-346-2586 or email archives@uwsp.edu to reserve a time for an appointment. Appointments are generally available Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. - noon and 1 - 4:30 p.m.
The Archives is located in Room 110 of the Trainer Natural Resources (TNR) building on the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point campus. The TNR is labeled #12 on the campus map. Room 110 is in the southeast corner of the building on the ground floor.
The Archives has a free parking space available for researchers to use during their research appointments. The space is the northeast corner of Parking Lot R, near the intersection of Portage Street and Reserve Street on the campus map. The space is marked with a sign that reads “Reserved for Archives Visitors.” Please contact Archives staff in advance to ensure that the parking space will be available on the day of your appointment.
Researchers will be asked to complete an annual sign-in sheet and review the Archives’ Reading Room Policies upon arriving at the Archives for their research appointment. All bags, coats, and other personal belongings must be stored in the lockers available in the reading room or on the coat rack. Laptops, notebooks, and pencils are allowed in the reading room for notetaking.
There are several scanners and a photocopier available in the reading room for researchers to use to make copies of records. The Archives does charge a 10 cent per page fee for all paper photocopies of records. Alternatively, researchers are welcome to use a camera or other mobile device to take photographs of records at no charge.
